Over the River and Through the Woods!

What a journey! Our flight from Dublin to Rome was just over 2 hours and we were comatose - wanting to just sleep but couldn't quite get comfortable.  We landed in Rome, got the luggage and made our way to the Harry Potter like train station to catch the Leonardo Express to Rome!

 

 

From the Leonardo Express we took it to the Termini Train station that was bustling with people luggage and a few shifty eyed locals that we steered clear of for the fear of being pick pocketed ;)

 

We found where to purchase our train tickets and eventually found the right train to the Fossato train station... what a ride it was, the views were amazing, we were hot but the fast train was nice and breezy for the 2.5 hour ride, some of us were able to get some Z's

 

 We made it to our destination and were greeted by a driver to take us to the Castle... just a 25 minute windy ride through the countryside...

We turned on a gravel road... and knew we were getting closer as the wonderful evergreens took shape along the road...

The Castle!  And our cottage apartment await us!

 

Julie was in the field by the pool when she first caught sight of us... blown away with our presence, with every new guest she will be surprised for her birthday week celebration ~ Below is the Birthday Girl as we had bread, wine, cheese and prosciutto in the "courtyard"
