All Good Things Must Come to an End

After a quick night staying in Rome, we took off for home at 12pm Rome time for a flight to Dublin that connected with our flight to Chicago.  It was a great flight, did our best to stay awake so that we would snap back into our time zone quicker.  Came home to two happy dogs, a fallen tree in the yard from the apparent storms that morning and a limo driver who's limo overheated in our street... it's all good.  We all feel incredibly blessed by our ability to take this trip, the people we have met along the way and our fun little family.

From Sitges back to Rome... the Leg Towards Home

This morning we said goodbye to our wonderful cozy hotel in Sitges Spain, we had breakfast in the courtyard.  A breakfast of fresh fruit, the freshest croissants ever and tea, always so pleasant.  I took some last minute pics of the stained glass windows in our room, they are antique and very lovely.  We took a bus to the airport and were in the air to Rome once again.  This time in Rome we are staying at a Marriott and just chillin at the hotel.  We can see the St. Peters dome from our balcony.  We had dinner and hit the hay... tomorrow we will be on the last leg of this whirlwind unbelievable trip, the leg back home.

Ahh the comforts of a Marriott, shower cap and all

Montserrat... the Monestary on a Mountain...

Today David and Mark stayed home to work and set us out on our own to take a train to Barcelona, transfer to another for the destination of Montserrat!  It was simply breathtaking, we had to take a cable car up the mountain, then enjoyed a ride in a funicular to the tippy top where we hiked.  Before all of that we snuck into their Basilica during mass and were amazed by the beautiful cathedral and the statue of the Black Madonna.  We got back and had dinner out with the boys at an excellent Italian restaurant on the beach... we have really had a wonderful time, but with all things it must end, tomorrow we head to Rome for an overnight and finally head home to Mollee and Pikkles on Wednesday

My Computer couldn't get internet at the hotel,

a café to get the blog updated

Barcelona!

Today David and Mark were gracious to take us on a walking tour of Barcelona!  We took the train from Sitges to Barcelona and walked our little butts off... the architecture is amazing!  We saw medieval buildings, buildings designed by Gaudi and the Segrada Familia a church that is taking just about forever to be completed :)  We also enjoyed a little Salvador Dali sculpture!  We went back to our lovely room and took a siesta for energy for our late night dinner with Mark and David and friends at our hotel restaurant -  it was muy perfecto!

While in Barcelona as Dree was purchasing a purse, a stinky worn gypsy walked into the leather purse store and decided to walk out with a handbag... as the alarm went off, the clerk ran out of the store, hunted down the gypsy and snatched the bag right off her shoulder and put it back on the rack.  Excitement in Barcelona!
